SDG1: No Poverty
This SDG is yearly memorized on 17 October: International Day for the Education of
Poverty. Poverty concerns all people, in particular the vulnerable, who do not have access to all natural and economic resources and, hence, are not able to live their lives in the same way as most others. A vicious circle appears as the poverty in third world countries partly continues by the food waste created in Western countries and the other way around, the food and water shortage detrimentally affects poverty.
SDG2: Zero Hunger
This SDG is yearly memorized on 28 May: World Hunger Day. Hunger refers to the poor and people in vulnerable situation who are not able to be provided with nutritious and sufficient food throughout the whole year. According to the documentary Cowspiracy, a plant based dated diet is recommended. In fact, it has been proven that the meat industry negatively influences the access to food for third world countries and, therefore, the world food supply as more and more space is needed for animals and, thus, the meat consumption.
